Who do I help?

I am happy to see clients of any age. I have worked with children and adolescents since the start of my working life and am a qualified teacher.  I have worked extensively and in various settings, with behavioural and emotional childhood issues.

I am a professionally qualified, accredited and experienced psychotherapist with full professional liability insurance, an enhanced DBS (police check) and am GDPR compliant.  I am in my sixteenth year of practicing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hold accreditation with the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies (BABCP) and am listed on their therapist website.

CBT is an evidence based talking therapy and is the recommended approach for most issues that come under the umbrella of anxiety and depression.  CBT is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (www.nice.org.uk).

I have practised CBT privately, within schools and other institutions and as a locum therapist for four health authorities.  I take regular medico legal referrals from solicitors and insurance companies for trauma work (road traffic accidents, industrial injuries, bereavement).

As a fully trained professional in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) I have been practicing for nine years and seeing private and medico legal clients.  I am also a member of the UKCP and undergo continuous peer supervision and continuous professional development as required by the BABCP.

Please note that there is currently NO WAITING LIST!

Where to find me…

I currently practice from our home in Llandinam, near Newtown, and am also able to offer home visits, within a reasonable distance, to those who may have physical or emotional barriers to travelling.
